It was impossible to imagine someone living this kind of life even though, for me, it got over in around pages, while Heer lived and suffered it for 24 long years. Her attempt on revenge was a bit hard to digest and her attempt to liberate herself were not inspiring. What follows is her ordeal for years.

Disgusted at the events, but still glad Heer got the chance to tell her story to the world. The theme of the novel is tragic and controversial. The days of appeasement were over. Begins with protagonist’s young and beautiful Heer mother, out of utter ignorance and fear of Allah read Pir Sainmarrying and pushing her off into the beast Pir Sain’s hell. She describes several cases resulting in the humiliation and torture of Muslim women.
