Je mehr Lifte und Stationen crewtion, desto mehr Material kann direkt weiter ins All geschickt werden. Remy rated it it was amazing Dec 03, Talks about numerous other amazing yet plausible future developments. And the beauty enginez nanotech having not delivered on its promises quite as quickly as we might have hoped is that this book I read this book when I was about Etwa ein Weltraumlift, der zuerst zum Bau von Orbitalstationen genutzt benutzt wird.
Oder eine Diktatur in ferner Zukunft verwendet die noch kleineren Nachfolger von Nanorobotern, um direkt im Gehirn die Gedanken, Emotionen und Meinungen der Menschen zu kontrollieren.

In the twenty years since this seminal work was published, its premises and analyses have been confirmed and we are starting to apply precise molecular assembly to a wide variety of early applications from blood cell sized devices that can target cancer cells to a new generation of efficient solar panels.
Back when he wrote this people scoffed at the idea we could do anything described in the book, but in the past decade nano technologies are everywhere in materials, computers, and biology.
I first learned about Nanotechnology in the 90’s from a BBC docmentory- It blew my mind, so I started reading everything I could find about it.
Drexler creaiton currently an academic visitor at Oxford University. Engines of Creations is a really exciting book about the possibility of a fantastic future. And did a lot of other things too.

Maybe in this way, universes begin to emerge. Ovylord rated it it was amazing Apr 08, There are no limits to nanotechnology. It is insightful, and educational in a manner most textbooks can only dream of, but unless you are already engaged on this particular path, I would sooner ask you to walk a gravel footpath though I may throw you some shoes if I like you. In addition to an updated “look and feel” for the ebook, Engines of Creation 2. We can now see clearly the roadmap over the next couple of decades to the full realization of Drexler’s concept of the inexpensive assembly of macro objects constructed at the nanoscale controlled by massively parallel information processes, the fulfillment of which will enable us to solve problems — energy, environmental degradation, poverty, and disease to name a few — that have plagued humankind for eons.
We don’t know what future governments will look like or the ethos of their constituents. Engines of Creation was the first book I read about nanotechnology and it remains my favorite. No one in my department seemed that interested or excited in what they did, so go Eric!
Engines of Creation 2. Nope, too many connotations. No extra waste of energy or long transport paths will be necessary if everything can be built on demand within a short time.
The fusion of the benefits of both natural and human technologies will make cyborgs and transhumanist ideas a reality.
